Described by architectural critic Nikolaus Pevsner as “Devon’s most impressive country house”, Saltram House is a Jacobean mansion built in the 18th century. century by Baron John Parker. The early Georgian conversion included two rooms, designed by the most renowned interior designer of the time, Robert Adam. This green one in the dining room was in all likelihood chosen to match the urn he himself had designed.
