In the grounds of George Bernard Shaw’s Hertfordshire residence, secluded among the trees, is a small cottage where Shaw found the peace and quiet he needed to write. Built on a circular steel rail, it could follow the sun all day. In this small place surrounded by peaceful pale green, Shaw created plots and characters that would win him the Nobel Prize in 1925 and the OSCAR Award in 1938. Shaw liked to call the cottage ‘London’ to tell unwanted visitors that he was visiting the capital and not at home.
